Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a leader in our Analytics Engineering team to work with our BI and Analytics Data Engineers. We are an embedded engineering squad within Analytics under the Product organization at MediaMath.

Our team is responsible for data infrastructure, custom analytics platforms, and dashboards that power high-volume reporting and insights consumed by other teams at MediaMath as well as our global book of business consisting of advertising holding companies, independent agencies, and reseller partners.

The data engineers on our team support low-level Analytics functions through complex Spark ETL pipelines, and high-level enterprise operations through home-grown custom automated reporting platforms consisting of various Python microservices used to query big data sets, generate, and deliver results with high concurrency and consistency.

The ideal Manager for our team will employ an efficient model to overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting and unblocking our engineers from technical or logistic obstacles, and ensuring work requests are completed within a timely manner.


You will:

  • Create and support career development plans
  • Oversee deployments to production pipelines of our custom reporting infrastructure, and review major production changes with engineers
  • Recruit, mentor, and maintain candidates on our engineering team
  • Support and augment our Analytics team by seeing through the automation of workflows and productionizing ETL pipelines
  • Contribute to proprietary code repositories for our Analytics reporting platform and home-grown Python utilities
  • Develop and maintain documentation for our processes and tools

You have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably with a concentration in a computational field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering
  • At least 4 years of software development experience building Big Data SaaS
  • 1-3 years of people management experience
  • Experience architecting complex, distributed systems on AWS
  • Experience implementing systems health monitoring and alerting
  • Experience with version control tools like Git, GitHub, Docker, participated in code reviews, and have used task management tools like JIRA

  • An excellent communicator, able to translate and relay technical concepts, limitations, and requirements to stakeholders, and comfortable demonstrating the solutions you build to your peers
  • Curious and self-driven, with a hunger to learn and share knowledge with your team members
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fun, and entrepreneurial environment


  • Experience with Angular, Flask, React
  • Experience with Grafana, Graphite
  • Experience in data integration, incorporating data from various data sources into a centralized data store
  • Public GitHub repos or notebooks that illustrate the way you think about data
  • Exposure to ad-tech, digital marketing, or e-commerce industries
